Ubi Veteran Patrice Désilets Working on Genre-Hopping Triple A Game

Assassin's Creed 1 & 2 and Prince of Persia: Sands of Time creative director Patrice Désilets has announced his first project away from Ubisoft, a "third-person historical-action-survival game."

Details in the press release were scant, but the game will be made at the newly founded Panache Digital Games studio in Montreal, along with former Assassin's Creed producer Jean-Francois Boivin.

"I believe wholeheartedly that this medium we call 'video games' can be a positive force for change in our society and that AAA quality gaming experiences have unmatched strength to achieve this."

Désilets is still involved in a protracted legal battle with Ubisoft, who fired him earlier this year while working on a project codenamed '1666'. Whether the Great Fire or the Plague will carry over might just depend on that lawsuit.
