EA and Coldwood have today released a brand new story trailer for Unravel, their upcoming indie game. The trailer, which you can view below this article, features new gameplay of Yarny - the main character made from a single thread of yarn - and his adventures of reconnecting the bonds of love.

Gaming is a powerful platform, able to inspire players and touch their hearts. With Unravel, we’re hoping to do just that,” says Martin Sahlin, Creative Director at Coldwood. “Yarny’s quest is to mend broken bonds and the yarn represents the love and connection between people. Along the way, we’ll test your cleverness with environment-based puzzles inspired by our home in Northern Sweden.

According to a press release, EA describes the game's story as a "heartfelt story about love and longing, and the ties that bind, with Yarny as the red thread that runs through it all". The game will be heavily puzzle based, with challenges ranging from using Yarny's thread to swing across gaps or rappel down trees to using his thread in clever and creative ways to find the path forward.

Along with the new trailer, the press release also announces that Unravel will launch worldwide on February 9, 2016 for $19.99 (or £14.99 / €19.99) on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC. EA Access members can play Unravel before the Feb. 9 release, and get a 10% discount on the full game.
