HTC have revealed a Virtual Reality headset called the ‘HTC Re Vive’ that they will be producing as a tie-in with Valve. The Oculus Rift and Morpheus VR’s new competitor will have pairing to wireless controllers and and tracking technology which will allow the players to explore computer generated environments created by walking around their own rooms, within a 15 foot radius.

The headset will offer full compatibility with Valve’s SteamVR program, meaning that all participating games will also be compatible. According to Steam Dev Days, the device will offer a 95 Hz Refresh rate, 110-degree FOV, 1K x 1K resolution per eye and movement tracking. A test version of the device will be available soon for developers but for the average user, we’ll still have to wait until a public edition later this year.

If these specs will be what they are said to be, this will be revolutionary.
