During E3, we had the chance to go see Video Games Live at the Nokia Theater. For those that don’t know what Video Games Live is, well Video Games Live is an immersive concert event featuring music from the most popular video games of all time. Top orchestras & choirs perform along with exclusive video footage and music arrangements, synchronized lighting, solo performers, electronic percussionists, live action and unique interactive segments to create an explosive entertainment experience!
I’m a big lover of video game music, so when I first heard of Video Games Live, I’ve always wanted to attend a show. But it never quite happened due to timing of the tour dates in the UK and how busy I was with college or work at the time. So the opportunity arose for me to finally attend a show and what more could you ask for, it was directly after the convention for the day.
We got access to the VIP lounge so we could meet some of the amazing people in the industry who are responsible for scoring some of the best video game soundtracks of all time. Since it was E3 there where many special guests and we only got to meet a few of them, however special guests included Blizzard Entertainment’s Russell Brower, Tetris creator Alexey Pajitnov, Henk Rogers, Maya Rogers, Malukah, Cole Plante, Inon Zur, Christian Linke, Randy Kerber, Amy Tatum, Marty O’Donnell, Mike Salvatori, Pete Hollens, Jillian Aversa, Andrew Aversa and many more.
As I said before since it was E3, Video Games Live had something amazing planned. Featuring over 100 musicians on stage from the Pasadena Community Orchestra, Glendale College Choir and Special Musician/Composer Guests from around the world. World Premieres of music not heard across the industry yet from the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion Warlords of Draenor, League of Legends, Bioshock: Infinite and more.
So if you love video games and music, defiantly go check our Video Games Live you’re in for a treat. From retro games to modern titles, Video Games Live is a show anyone with the passion for video games or music can enjoy.
