Wargaming, the company behind World of Tanks, World of Warships, and more recently Master of Orion have released a new 360 degree video project today.
Titled War Knows No Nation the video "rekindles the memories of three verteran World War II tankers... Blending live action panorama footage with CG scenes for the very first time."
Sharing their experience from the war, Tom Sator (US 4th Armored Division - United States Army), David Render (UK Veteran, Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry, one of the last surviving members of D-Day), and Aleksander Fen (84th tank brigade, 31st tank brigade, Major General, Belarus, Ret.) take the viewer through the experience.
"We're truly passionate about history and want to share it with the world..." Tracy Spaight, Director of Special Projects at Wargaming said in a statement. "In 'War Knows No Nation', we experimented with technology and mixed live actions scenes with CG scenes in 360... This unique blend of formats creates a whole new level of immersion. You literally relive history, watching it unfold from points of view of veterans that fought in the war."
Featuring seven scenes from across Belarus, Russia, the USA, and the UK, the video provides unparalleled insight into a time that shaped the past. Viewers can watch history come alive using this new cutting edge technology. Speaking of the opportunity to work with Wargaming on this project, David Render said "(War Knows No Nation) was a unique opportuniy to share my experiences with the war that I never thought possible...I adore the youth of today, because they're better educated than us. As far as future generations are concerned, we need to make sure that nothing like it (WWII) happens again. It is so easy to start a war, but very difficult to stop it."
War Knows No Nation can be seen below and you can find more information about it on the Wargaming website. Our hats are off to all veterans across the world. Thank you for keeping us safe. All of you.
