Last year's E3 was all about 3D. But now Sony has a lack of 3D games. Was it just a fad? Or is 3D the future of gaming? Personally I think that 3D was just another way to sell TVs, because we all know that Sony is in the TV industry. Remember how everyone was on the Avatar kick?
Now Jim Ryan says that they'll really have to talk about 3D. I think that Sony is realizing that most people don't need a 3D TV to enjoy games. We all know that good a gameplay sells more than a fad feature. I've never been a fan of 3D gaming. So just give me a game with nice controls and great graphics and I'll be set. Oh by the way, who enjoys wearing those glasses?

Personally I enjoy 3D Gaming however it depends on what type of tv/monitor it is, and how well the 3D is done within the games engine. Because we all know how a badly coded gaming can affect gameplay and the frame rate, while I’ve had my fair share of good and bad experiences of 3D within films and games my overall opinion of 3D is still very much the same. We need 3D to become more real to allow a more immersive in depth experience in both gaming and films to allow us to become more involved in them to make them feel more real.
While the developers and film makers out there are wanting to make us engage into a more indepth story, 3D would be a massive help I mean look how well 3D is being used within films currently its mainly being used within the high end action packed sequences. However its now being used more and more within the film environments to make them feel that extra bit more realistic. But then this is where we start getting more into a Sci-Fi Star Trek feel with everything eventually becoming holograms. So possibly within my lifetime I may experience a real life hologram deck. And this is where 3D will play a big part, sure its early days but this tech will help us build better tech!
