Wargaming, the company behind popular games such as World of Tanks, World of Warplanes, and the soon to be released World of Warships have taken the post E3 hype train to the next level, announcing a release date for their first mobile title; World of Tanks: Blitz.
Blitz will launch June 26th for iOS tablets (iPad 2 and newer) and iOS smartphones (iPhone 4S and newer). Android releases are to come at a later date.
After being revealed in March of 2013, Blitz amassed over 150,000 applications for the closed beta sign up within the first week and saw its "soft launch" start on May 5th in select countries.
We are thrilled to finally give players a release date for World of Tanks Blitz, Following the successful soft launch, we are now putting final touches on the game. We're really excited about how well World of Tanks Blitz has turned out and can't wait for players to get their hands on it and engage in tank combat wherever they may go.
On the June 26th launch, Blitz will feature over 90 armored vehicles from various countries including the USA, Germany, and the USSR. Four classes will be included; light tanks, medium tanks, heavy tanks, and long ranged tank destroyers. Players will compete in 7v7 matches and have the opportunity to team up with friends just like the PC version of World of Tanks to take down their enemies. Playing with allies also helps you unlock and research new vehicles with different combat characteristics.
