Xbox Game Pass Launches June 1

By AJ Hanson on 29/04/2024 21:52 UTC

Earlier in the year, Microsoft unveiled Xbox Game Pass, which is a new digital gaming subscription service that gives subscribers access to over 100 Xbox One and Xbox 360 Backwards Compatible games for $9.99 per month.

Beginning today, however, all current Xbox Live GOLD members will get exclusive early access to Xbox Game Pass and are allowed to start their 14 day trial before anyone else. According to Microsoft, its a way to say thank you to all of the Gold members for their past and continued support.

We know that a gaming subscription service is only as good as its catalogue of titles, so we’re also excited to share the full lineup of Xbox One and Backward Compatible Xbox 360 games that will be available through Xbox Game Pass. At launch and beyond, our goal is to make sure there are great games to play for all gamers.

When Xbox Game Pass launches, players will have access to a broad range of games on the Xbox One or Xbox One S including titles like Halo 5: Guardians, Payday 2, LEGO Batman, Viva Pinata, and more!

Each month, Xbox Game Pass will add in new titles to ensure that "there is always something new to play across a diversity of experiences..."and as an added benefit, Xbox Game Pass members will be able to purchase all of the Xbox One games in the lineup at an exclusive discount.

It seems to us like Microsoft is really reaching out to gamers and offering them a choice at every level this year, and we cannot wait to see how the Game Pass service performs down the line.  With Xbox One Backward Compatibility, Xbox Play Anywhere, and now Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft is set to offer its best product lineup yet heading into E3 2017.
