PC exclusive XCOM 2 is unlikely to launch with its predecessor's excellent Gamepad support, according to its creative director, as the team focuses on honing a more traditional interface.
In an interview with IGN, Jake Solomon spoke about lofty goals that the team felt could only be realised on its most familiar platform.
“When we have our meetings, when we talk about stuff, we only talk about PC...We talk about ‘What is the experience like on PC? What does the mouse feel like in this experience?'
"It will certainly be recognizable, but there isn't one UI widget that's the same."
The follow-up to 2012's critically acclaimed strategy title XCOM: Enemy Unknown is due out this November.
