In these past few weeks, Bethesda have been running a campaign on social media where players can mention reasons for why they are playing The Elder Scrolls Online. The campaign has been branded with #MillionReasonsToPlay and it is meant to create attention around the game and hopefully bring in some new players.
Admit it, you've all been there. You've sat around with your pals, chatting, laughing, and even arguing about your favorite things in a video game. For some, it's a specific scene – a story sequence that delivered a swift, fierce emotional gut-punch. For others, it's something social – an exhilarating moment shared amongst friends. Whatever the case, these conversations are often a great way to discover new games… or, perhaps, uncover more reasons to enjoy what you already love.
With this in mind, Bethesda have now truly given players a million reasons to play their online RPG. The developers have now announced that they are giving away 1 million US dollars to one lucky winner, and all you need to do is to play The Elder Scrolls Online. To enter the draw you just need to fill out an online form and log in to the game at least once before January 10th, 2016.
If you don't already have a game account, Bethesda is giving you a chance to play the game for free this weekend. From December 10th to the 14th you can download and play The Elder Scrolls Online as much as you want, completely free of charge. Participating in this free weekend falls within the contest requirements of logging in, so you don't actually need to purchase the game to be eligible to enter the draw. If you still decide to purchase the game, you can pick it up for a reduced price up until December 14th.
The free weekend is currently only open for PC, Mac and Xbox One, but Bethesda are working with Sony to be able to bring this to PS4 users as well.
